“This is the best restaurant I have been to in Buffalo. I am basing this review on sampling a few items on the menu, couldn’t eat everything!
Here is what we had, and left us groaning from the deliciousness. Seriously, nothing in this town is prepared with this level of skill and creativeness. And I love ordinary food! But what I had at Oliver’s was extraordinary!
I am now just going to type what is on the menu, with my comments attached:
Beef Tartare: pine nuts, duck yolk pudding, charred onions, gruyere puffs, pickled mustard seed, herb puree, and nasturtium: so it was beautiful. and one fabulous taste after another. Texture, flavor, it has it all. I can’t describe it; you need to taste it.
Tuna Poke: avocado sorbet, crispy shallots, sunflower seeds, and pickled thai bird chili. I have no idea what a pickled thai bird chili is. But I can tell you this dish is from heaven!
Local Squash Soup: fried bread, apples, Pecans, and herb creme fraiche: Another astonishing combo. Every bite a delight. For the most part, I am not crazy about squash, but this soup could change all that. You can’t imagine the interplay of flavor.
Porchetta Sandwich: rapini , provolone cheese, pepper relish, garlic aioli, salt and vinegar chips: I was too full to eat it!!! But my husband swooned. I’ll eat my half tomorrow.
Our friends had branzini, which they loved, and another set of friends recommend the bolognese sauce.
RUN don’t walk to Oliver’s.”

“Everything was perfect start to finish. I took my wife here on Valentine’s Day. We have had plenty of fine dining experiences in and out of Buffalo, but realized we’ve never been to Oliver’s, despite the fact that I grew up down the street, worked there when I was a freshman in college, and my parents still live down the street. From the second we sat down the service was impeccable. Our waiter Charlie was very personable, attentive, and well versed on the food choices and even their origins. The kitchen was very accommodating to a switch that my wife wanted to make with her entree as well. We had the braised beef piergoes and potato tapas as an appetizer. My wife had the Caesar salad and I had the shrimp poblano pepper bisque prior to our entrees. All were amazing. I had the osso bucco as an entree, which was so tender and delicious it did not even require a knife. My wife had the New York strip steak and loved it. Everything was so delicious that we opted to order dessert which we never do. The banana walnut bread French toast dessert was incredible. Meal service and restaurant were all a 10 out of 10. We will be back for sure.”

World Class in Buffalo

“Buffalo take pride and note, Oliver’s is a world class restaurant. I am a Buffalo native who moved away due to military service. My lady friend and I recently came to visit. We have dined in Europe and across the US and we were impressed with overall excellence of Oliver’s. The soft shell crab appetizer was perfect; the sirloin of lamb and the tuna entrees were truly to die for. We had a great experience and most memorable evening. Pefect Cocktails, Valet Parking, Presentation of food”
